Last night I had the good fortune to be invited to a midnight screening of The Animatrix, a collection of animated shorts in various anime styles based on the universe of the Matrix. It was some of the most beautiful, tasteful, dizzying animation I’ve ever seen. It looked like each animated short must have had the budget, crew, and time table of a live action feature.
