I don’t wanna hear it!
filed under:
Yeah, I’ve been on a bit of a blog-break. The longest break I think I’ve taken since I strarted Receptacle lo these many moons ago. All I can do is offer my apologies and maybe a little bit about what’s been keeping me so busy.
1. MY JOB.
Work’s been nuts. As many of you know, I make web sites. Mostly for Nestle brands. For the last two months, I’ve been working on getting a presentable alpha of the new C#.NET redesign of Nestle’s flasgship site: VeryBestKids.com. It’s the biggest account my company has and the only basket our eggs call home. Stupid really.
2. MY WEB SITE.
Anyone who knows me knows that I make web sites for a living. They probably know that I’ve made dozens of them. It’s likely that they’re aware that I’ve never managed to finish one for myself. Not completely. I’ve tried on 6, maybe 8 occasions to make a portfolio web site for myself, but stopped part way through. Usually I hit a creative block or run into a problem I don’t feel like fixing. It’s tough not having anyone to answer to. Anyways, with things at work wobbling about in a less than comforting manner, I’ve decided to finally get my shit together and make a web site. Guess what! Not finished yet. But that’s ok, I’ve been dedicating every spare minute to it and I’m pretty sure I’ll get this one done. You can see a test version of it here.
3. MICKI’S EGG DONATION
Sure, it doesn’t really take up that much of my time, but it takes up a lot of my resources in general. Maybe not so many as Micki’s. It’s been a 7 month ordeal and it came to a head this week. Since Micki’s not quite gotten around to telling the world via The Red Carpet, I’ll suffice to say: It’s over.
4. THE HONOLULU MARATHON.
Aids Project Los Angeles runs a program called The Aids Marathon every year. The program involves getting people to register for the Honolulu Martathon or the San Francisco Half-Marathon and to raise money for APLA in the process. If you raise enough, they’ll even offer to help train you and fly you to your destination. We registered a little while back and have begun training. There will be much, much more information here very soon, as well as a paypal account through which you are invited to donate.
So… that’s my life. I promise to get my shit together. Just stop yelling at me.
